Film is a handy tool to provide the scenario of the way daily life unfolded for the people of a country where they were made. They display how the people work, what they do for their entertainment, how the fabric of daily life is transformed. Besides, it embodies the country’s history, culture and heritage. So, films are the mirror of the country.

Film depicts the society of the country. It unveils many conflicts between stakeholders lie in the society. Take the film Heavenly Creature for an example. The film, directed by Peter Jackson, sheds light on many conflicts, the disputes between Pauline and her mother, Pauline, Juliet and the society. The film delineates the individual’s aspiration as Pauline wants to be a renowned writer in order to transcend her working class backdrop. It also focuses on how families are formed or fell apart, and how the people interact with each other. Overall, the film highlights several conflicts that took place in the 1950s’ English society. Watching this movie, anyone can the picture of the society of the time.

In addition, films also frame many historical events. Spectaculars can gain many information on history of a country in her context the movie was made. Roland Emmerich’s The Patriot here is a good epitome of historical representation by films. The protagonist, a peaceful peasant Benjamin Martin played by Mel Gibson, is propelled to lead the Militia during the American Revolution when his elder son was slain by a cold-blooded British officer. Martin fights as berserk by anguish, rage, and grief. The movie depicts a father who is seethed with anger for revenge during the American Revolution.

All in all, we could learn so many things about a country by watching films, because it resonates the life, culture, ethos, history and so forth. In fact, it is the second reality to a country where they was made.
