Sample Answer:

It is generally accepted that early childhood experiences and those that occur during adolescence can have a significant impact on a person’s future. While some people believe that the experiences children have prior to attending school will have the biggest effect, others argue that teenage experiences have a greater influence. This essay will discuss both views and then put forward my own opinion.

On the one hand, it is argued that the experiences that children have before going to school will have the most profound impact on their future. This is because young children are in a phase of rapid development and are therefore more open to learning and forming new behaviours. Consequently, the environment and the activities in which they engage during this period can shape their character and values, influencing the decisions they will make later in life. For example, children who are exposed to language and music lessons at a young age are more likely to develop language and musical skills that can be beneficial in the future.

On the other hand, some people argue that the experiences gained during adolescence will have a more significant effect on a person’s future. This is because during this period, individuals are more open to exploring new opportunities and taking risks. Furthermore, teenagers often face more complex decisions than younger children, which can lead to better understanding of their own identity and the world around them. This can lead to improved problem solving and decision making skills in adult life and help to shape their future career and relationships.

In my opinion, both early childhood and adolescent experiences can have a significant impact on a person’s future. I believe that the experiences gained prior to attending school can provide a strong foundation for a person’s behaviour, as well as their skills and values. At the same time, I believe that teenage experiences can help to shape a person’s identity and ensure that they have the skills to cope with the challenges of adult life. Therefore, I think that both early childhood and adolescent experiences are equally important for a person’s future.
