Sample Answer:

Nowadays, an active pastime is considered to be an effective way of developing life skills in children. There are, however, those who believe that reading is more beneficial for children. In this essay, I will discuss both of these points of view and will explain why I believe that both activities are necessary for children’s development.

On the one hand, engaging in an active pastime can be highly beneficial for children’s development. It is widely known that physical activity can improve children’s physical health, reduce stress and improve their overall mood. Moreover, participating in active pastimes can teach children the importance of teamwork and commitment, while also giving them an opportunity to learn new skills and develop self-discipline.

On the other hand, reading is also an important activity for children. It helps them to develop their language skills and expand their knowledge. Additionally, reading can help children to understand different perspectives and enhance their imagination. Furthermore, reading can be a great way for children to relax and escape from the real world, which can be highly beneficial for their mental health.

In conclusion, I believe that both engaging in an active pastime and reading are important for children’s development. Physical activity can help children to learn important life skills, while reading can help them to explore different worlds and develop their imagination. Therefore, I believe that both activities should be encouraged in order to ensure that children reach their full potential.
