The given bar chart illustrates the days off taken by male and female employees due to their stress related illness in four different job sectors in 1998. As is observed from the given data, male firefighters and police officers took the maximum days off from their office because of their illness related to stress.
More men employees of these four sectors took off from jobs due to their stress related illness. While factory workers took the least number of days off, these days off was highest in defense sectors. Only 2 days of was taken by male factory workers on an average when that was only 1 by female. Male teachers took 4 days off while female teachers took 3 days off. The days off in police department and fire fighter department were highest. 12 and 14 off days were recorded for the male employees in these two sectors while it was 7 and 4 for female employees in these last two sectors.
In summary, female took fewer days off than male did in the four job sectors in 1998 and police and fire fighters took far more days off than the teachers and factory workers did.
